Cup Regatta 2008 - Roger Dundas
Keen Classic Yacht Association member, newsletter guru and general all round good bloke Roger Dundas not only sailed a Tumlaren around the course but managed to squeeze of a great set of pictures. Something suggest that Roger must dream about old Fife boats as you'll notice in his photos. This 1897 Fife cutter was almost unbeatable on Port Phillip and became the founding yacht of the Sayonara Cup. A Melbourne syndicate bought her back from Sydney, and gave her a million-dollar refit before re-launching her in 2000. She has since been a regular in classic yacht events

Gaffers Day 2008
Over 75 classic and gaff rigged boats took part in the famous Gaffers Day at the Sydney Amateur Sailing Club. The club was founded in 1872 which makes it one of the oldest sailing clubs in Australia. A day full of many highlights, from was seeing Sir James Hardy's Nerida in full sail, not only celebrating her 74th birthday, but also showing how a graceful lady can overcome sinking less than 12 months prior. Another highlight was to see Thistle helmed by Tim Phillips and a crew from the National Maritime Museum, Thistle was joined by 5 other Couta Boats, give the local Ranger boats a run for their money. Boats from 10 feet and above were seen enjoying a lap of the Harbour
