History |
Built at Rhyll Phillip Island by Ted Walton in 1959. Ted was a fisherman and boat builder. The boat operated in the waters around PI for many years. It was regarded as an excellent sea boat in all conditions. It moved to Port Phillip bay sometime in the 1960's and was used as a commercial fishing boat.It languished until the late 1970's when rescued and ended up at The Wooden Boat Shed at Sorrento and restored under the watchful eye of Tim Phillips. The Gosling was altered from sail to a half decked fishing boat with half cabin and open cockpit. The cabin has some wonderful timber work and is set up with 2 bunks, toilet and map table, marine carpet in the cabin. |
