History

'Whisper' was originally built for John Walker in 1967. The present owner is her fourth.

She has recently been out of the water for anti-fouling, recaulking, replacement of the prop shaft bearing and reinforcement of three frames. The work was done by Noakes in Berrys Bay. Woodleys replaced all the through hull fittings, and reglassed the cabin roof, in 2003 and have done other regular maintenance work.

The owner has happily spent considerable time on all the other pleasurable tasks a classic timber boat demands. He, and his family, have also enjoyed the stability and comfort of sailing a long keeled yacht. This experience confirms Kim Holman's view that the first 'Twister' was "...the most phenomenal boat I ever owned..."

Race Record

Her racing history while owned by John Walker and others is unknown. But she has won (twice) her division in the Royal Australian Institute of Architects annual yacht race!
