History

Henry II was discovered rotting in a backyard: probably retired after fifty to sixty years of loyal service.

Little is known about the boat’s history. He’s typical of a Tasmanian cray dinghy used by professional fisherman in the 1950’s.

I’m told he has the appearance of a Fazakerly designed and built dinghy. Henry II’s restoration was typical—replace a couple of planks and a few frames. Not. $18000 later he’s a new man!

Actually eight of the original planks are the only thing of the original boat remaining.

However, his shape and soul live on thanks to the remarkable work of Ned Trewartha. (A Tassie boat builder.)
